We've got your passport to Cuba with our first Tasting Tuesday of the new year hosted by Chef Samantha Lehrer of La Bodega Cubana. Don't miss this four-course communal dining experience featuring the fusion of Spanish and Caribbean flavors that is Cuban cuisine as imagined by first-generation Cuban-American Chef Sam. Enjoy an inspired menu, fresh locally sourced ingredients, and perfectly paired wines. Vegetarian options available.
La Bodega Cubana Salad
Salad of local greens, avocado, heirloom tomatoes, spiced pickled red onions, roasted garlic-lime vinaigrette
beef and chorizo stuffed papa rellena, croqueta de jamón, yuca frita, accompanied by seasonal salsas and cremas
Lechón Con Mojo
roasted pearl onions, seasonal squash purée and a red wine demi-glace
Tres Leches Cake
Spiced butter cake soaked in tres leches- three milks. Homemade dulce de leche. Topped with fresh whipped cream and seasonal fruit
With a rich family history and a background in permaculture design, Chef Sam has been fascinated with the “where” of food and traditional Cuban flavors since she began her culinary career. It is this interest in organic, locally sourced ingredients combined with a love of family and cooking that led to the birth of Asheville’s La Bodega Cubana. Chef Sam’s fare is currently available only at pop-ups and private events.
