About the Event
We're excited to welcome Chef J Chong back to Bottle Riot for a delicious night. She'll be serving her signature Cantonese cuisine ‒ and we'll be pairing it with the perfect wines. Show up early as menu items will sell out. While not a guarantee of service, please RSVP to help Chef Chong better anticipate crowd size and prepare accordingly.
Chef Chong is originally from Toronto but currently calls Asheville, NC home. She worked for James Beard-nominated chef Katie Button for almost 5 years before starting her own company when the pandemic hit. Chef Chong is passionate about bringing Cantonese food and an authentic culinary experience to Western North Carolina. When she's not holding pop-ups around town, leading private cooking classes, and cooking for private dinners, you'll find her at local farmers markets in Asheville offering her amazing grab-and-go frozen dumplings.
Chef Chong believes that food is medicine and that food brings people together. When she's not in the kitchen, Chef Chong is a proud and vocal Asian queer activist for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and AAPI people. She continues to use her voice to fight against racial injustice.
