About the Event
Join us as we welcome winemaker and friend, Mike Bell and his lovely wife Gwen, who will be serving up a traditional Northwest Clam Bake alongside some of their very special Willamette Valley, Oregon, Reference Point Winery wines.
The dinner will start with a smoked salmon appetizer and move to the main course of fresh Clam and Mussels steamed in Court bouillon, paired with his 11th vintage of Reference Point Pinot Noir 21’ and the 3rd vintage of Reference Point rosé of Pinot Noir 21’ and, as a bonus, a limited edition of the 2020 rosé.
With over 20 years in the business and a lifetime in hospitality, Mike became a student of winemaking and ultimately made his dream come true of owning his own vineyard in the prestigious Willamette Valley. In 2010 he harvested his first single vineyard vintage of Reference Point Pinot Noir and has continued to make every vintage except 2020, due to the smoke taint.
The labels have always been works of art, showcasing paintings from the winemaker himself, ones he did with his daughter, and, most recently, a painting he did with his wife, Gwen. The 2021 label is a re-launch of the Pinot Noir that was a collaboration of Mike’s wine-making talent, Gwen’s artistic input, and Bottle Riot co-owner Barrett Nichol’s graphic design.
Stay tuned… this project may be a REENTRANT but it is far from being finished.
